protect the environment
Green BioLPG Fuel for Our Coffee Roaster
We are working with Guernsey Energy to help them bring cleaner BioLPG fuel to the island and we are using this in our coffee roasting process to reduce our carbon footprint. Read the story here: Guernsey Energy launches first renewable gas trial.
We have future ambitions to transition to an electric roaster, with some of the electricity being generated by onsite solar PV. By investing in cleaner energy, we are taking meaningful steps toward a more sustainable operation, ensuring that every batch of coffee is roasted with care for both quality and the environment.
Electric Vehicles
We deliver customer orders and attend engineering callouts for maintenance and repair using electric vehicles, that are charged overnight with low carbon renewable electricity, a key step in reducing our carbon footprint and embracing a more sustainable future. By replacing traditional fuel-powered vehicles with electric alternatives, we significantly cut emissions, lower air pollution, and contribute to a cleaner island.
Recyclable Packaging
We carefully pack our locally roasted coffee in PE4 bags, a CO2 neutral certified packaging, this is a recyclable product that supports a more sustainable packaging solution. Unlike mixed-material packaging, PE4 can be more easily processed for recycling, reducing waste and helping us lower our environmental impact. By choosing this material, we’re taking another step toward responsible packaging while ensuring the freshness and quality of our coffee.
Please take empty bags to the Household Waste & Recycling Centre at Longue Hougue and place them in the polythene, bubble wrap recycling bin.
The carboard boxes used to hold your delivered goods are made from recycled cardboard.
Bulk Bag Packaging
To reduce packaging waste and minimise our environmental footprint, we now offer some of our locally roasted coffees in 5kg bulk bags. This initiative significantly cuts down on materials compared to our traditional pack size of eight individual 1kg bags in a cardboard box outer.
By choosing bulk packaging, we not only lower waste but also improve efficiency, ensuring our customers can enjoy their favourite coffee while supporting a more sustainable future. Small changes like these add up, helping us make a meaningful impact on reducing unnecessary packaging.
We’re working with and supporting the Nature Commission
The Nature Commission in Guernsey is dedicated to enhancing the island’s natural environment by raising awareness, protecting wildlife, and fostering a deeper connection between people and nature.
Their work includes conservation efforts, educational programs, and citizen science initiatives that empower the community to take action for biodiversity. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we proudly support their mission by donating for every kilo of coffee we sell. This initiative allows us to contribute directly to the preservation of Guernsey’s rich ecosystems while ensuring that every cup of coffee helps protect the natural world, we all cherish.

We are a certified Fairtrade Roaster, creating certified fairtrade products.
Fairtrade is a global movement that campaigns for trade, social and environmental justice. At its core is a certification system that aims to ensure a set of standards are met in the production and supply of a product or ingredient. For farmers and workers, Fairtrade means fairer pay, safer working conditions and investment in sustainable communities. For shoppers it means high quality, ethically produced and traded goods, and minimising environmental impact.
Buying items that carry the Fairtrade Mark means standing with farmers for fairness and equality, against some of the biggest challenges our world faces. With fairer pay, farmers can create change, from investing in climate-friendly farming techniques, to developing women in leadership.
